Mission

The average budget thru-hike, will cost merely $10.00 a day.  My financial goal is to raise enough to cover that budget hike, with $5000.00 minimum donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. I have allowed  extra on this goal in case of emergency. If the emergency fund is not used it will be added to the donation.

This year the Appalachian trail is 2185.9 miles From Springer Mountain to Mount Katahdin. I  have added an option to give 1 penny for each mile. Your gift of $21.85 could supply 2 days of hiking.

Depending on when the goal is met I will take approximately 7 months and complete another thru-hike of the A.T. Usual start times Northbound are in March and April, and southbound  in May and June. Given that my trail name is " DoubleBack ", and that I have already completed a northbound hike, I would prefer a Southbound trip. A southbound trip would be the ultimate doubleback on the trail.
